Selene 49 Article for Brochure

At the time of order , in April 2008 Savvas and Elena Costa was the youngest couple ever to order a new Selene Ocean trawler . At the age of 37 Savvas had already hand built his own 38feet semi displacement laminate plywood flybridge yacht and after selling it he owned another semi displacement 48feet production GR yacht.

After years at sea and with two very small children ( age 1 and 2 ) it was obvious for them that a Selene trawler would be the only yacht suitable to cruise the unpredictable Mediterranean sea and the dangerous Red sea in comfort and safety.

With the help of Howard Chen and his design team Selene 4937 was soon under construction with some customisation like a master stateroom amidships , a staircase to the staterooms from the pilothouse and a large swim platform integrated to the hull which can accommodate extra toys like a jet rib or an extra large jet ski. With the optional hardtop and the all oyster hull and deck the yacht looks modern and very appropriate for a young family. The yacht will cruise extensively in the Greek islands during Summer 2010 and visit the notorious Red sea the following winter .Of course the plans will not stop in the Mediterranean and the Red seas and as the kids will grow so the journeys in the seven seas will become even bigger .

From all the team at JTM good luck to Selene-4937 'My Sons' and the Costa family.
